Practical Information

Languages:

IMPORTANT CHANGE: English is the only official language of the conference. Interpretation into Czech and French will be provided to a limited extent only. Please check the conference program for specific information on the languages of each of the sessions. We apologize for any inconvenience.   

Venues:

The Holocaust Era Assets Conference will be held in the Prague Congress Centre. Both conference hotels, the Corinthia Towers hotel and the Holiday Inn hotel are right next to the Prague Conference Center (KCP).

Social and cultural events will take place in the Žofín Palace, the National Theatre and the Terezin Memorial. Evening receptions on Saturday, June 27, will be kindly hosted by various embassies in Prague. 

Food:

10% of the food served at lunches and receptions will be kosher. Kosher food will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

Transportation:

Please note that the transportation from and to the airport can not be provided by the organizers. We kindly ask the participants to take a taxi or to use public transportation.

Cabs/Taxis from the airport are provided for example by the AAA company right in front of the terminals. The price for a transfer to the Conference hotels is approximately  490 Czk/ 18 EUR/ 26 USD.

The best connection by public transportation is:

Bus No. 119: Letiště Ruzyně (Ruzině Airport) – Dejvická (Transfer to underground station, line A)
Underground line A: Dejvická – Muzeum (Transfer to underground line C)
Underground line C: Muzeum – Vyšehrad

Both hotels are with in comfortable walking distance from the Vyšehrad underground station.

Local bus transportation to and from the social and cultural events will be provided by the organizers. All transportation will be organized only from and to the conference hotels (the Corinthia Towers hotel and the Holiday Inn hotel).

Please note that all events of the last conference day (Tuesday, June 30) are held in the city of Terezín, approximately 1.5 hour away from Prague. All buses to Terezin will depart from the conference hotels between 7:45 and 8:00 AM. Conference participants leaving in the afternoon are asked to check out in time and to take the luggage to the buses.
Buses will depart from Terezin at 13:00 arriving at the Prague Airport approximately at 14:30 - 15:00 and will later continue to the Conference Hotels. 
Participants attending the guided walking tours in Terezin will have buses arranged to departure at 15:00 (direction airport and conference hotels).

Guided tours in Terezin:

We would like to invite all conference participants for guided walking tours in the Terezin Memorial.
Tours will start just after lunch at 13:00 and will take approximately 1-1,5 hour. Buses for the participants of the guided tours will departure to Prague Airport between 15:00 – 15:30 with the arrival planed at 17:00.

Please confirm your participation at the guided tours in Terezin by mail to boris.kalisky(at)forum2000.cz so that we can arrange the guides and buses accordingly.

Health and Travel Insurance:

Please kindly take into consideration that organizers do not provide health and health insurance for conference participants. Please arrange a sufficient travel and health instance early in advance for the duration of your stay in Czech republic.
